Agent skills are modular packages that give AI coding assistants specialized workflows, domain knowledge, and execution guidelines. They work across any modern IDE — including Claude Code, Google Antigravity, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code.

📦 Anatomy of an Agent Skill

An agent skill is simply a directory containing a required SKILL.md file with YAML frontmatter and markdown instructions. The agent reads the title and description at startup to understand capabilities, and only reads full instructions when your prompt triggers it.

🚀 Installation Methods

📥 Method 1: Direct 1-Click Browser Download (Zero Tools or Terminal Needed)

If you don't have curl, Git, or Node.js installed, or if terminal commands fail on your machine, you can download the SKILL.md file directly in your browser:

  1. Navigate to any skill page (for example, Frontend Design).
  2. Click the 📥 Download SKILL.md button. The browser immediately saves SKILL.md directly into your Downloads folder.
  3. Move the downloaded SKILL.md into your project's skill directory (e.g. .agents/skills/frontend-design/SKILL.md). That's it!

Method 2: Skills CLI (Fastest automated CLI)

The universal npx skills add command installs directly to all detected agent folders:

# Install one skill globally (detected across all agents)
npx skills add anthropics/skills --skill frontend-design -g -y

# Target specific agents only
npx skills add ./my-skill -a claude-code -a cursor -a windsurf -a antigravity

# List all installed skills
npx skills list -g

Method 2: Google Antigravity Project Setup

In Antigravity workspaces, create a folder in .agents/skills/<skill-name>/ and place SKILL.md inside:

# Download or copy SKILL.md into that folder
# Antigravity immediately recognizes it on your next prompt

Method 3: Cursor & Windsurf Manual Clone

Clone any skill repo and link it into Cursor's personal skill folder:

cp -r /tmp/skills/skills/frontend-design ~/.cursor/skills/frontend-design

Method 4: Sharing Skills Across Multiple IDEs (Symlink)

Keep a single source of truth and symlink it to both Claude and Cursor:
